McDonald's is committed to reinforcing the importance of energy balance - that is the food you eat balanced with the activity you do.
We have been committed to promoting active lifestyles for over a decade - from our sponsorship of the Olympics Games and football's glittering occasions such as the World Cup through to our grassroots football programme.
To help inspire children to be more active, we created Team Sport. Team Sport brings together three generations of British sports stars - from Sir Geoff Hurst MBE to James Cracknell OBE to the next generation of Olympic hopefuls. Team Sport has toured the country, offering advice and inspiration to youngsters.
We are also working to tackle one of the real issues facing grassroots football today - lack of access to qualified coaching for youngsters. In partnership with the four Football Associations, we have created over 11,500 new volunteer community football coaches to provide more access to qualified coaching for youngsters. Our coaches are now deployed across the UK providing more opportunities for children to play and enjoy Britain's national game. Over the last four years, we have:
• Created 11,850 new coaches across UK
• Provided 190,000 footballs
• Donated more than £4.5 million-worth of kit and equipment
• Over 1.8 million qualified coaching hours provided by McDonald's coaches
